OpenAlex: what is it and how do we use it?

The number of scientific publications has been continuously increasing for years. As a result, both researchers and the assessment of scholarly work are faced with new challenges. OpenAlex, as an open data source, provides an approach to maintaining an overview of the growing number of scientific articles, conference papers, and collected volumes. In order to help these vital services the Sachsenkonsortium (consortium of Saxony) coordinated by the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB Dresden) continues to support OpenAlex.

ReproTea meets ReproHack

ReproducibiliTea Dresden ist eine Veranstaltungsreihe, bei der sich Studierende und Forschende über die Reproduzierbarkeit, Replizierbarkeit und generell die Qualität von Forschung austauschen können. Als Teil der weltweiten ReproducibiliTea Journal Club Initiative werden in einem lockeren Rahmen aktuelle Artikel rund um die Themen Open Science, Metawissenschaft, Forschungsdatenmanagement uvm. gelesen und bei der ein oder anderen Tasse Tee diskutiert. Im Wintersemester 2023/24 soll der inhaltliche Fokus der Veranstaltungen auf der komputationalen Reproduzierbarkeit wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse liegen.
